Somers Steelstock hold both commercial carbon & alloys steel grades as well as a range of Die & Tool steels including Somers own branded Die Steels Electem, Somdie, Thermodie and Somtherm
The extensive steel heat treatment and steel machining facilities at Somers Forge enable steel to be supplied in any condition with short lead times for ‘off the shelf’ items and deliver Nationwide.
At our works in Halesowen we hold a large range of Carbon & Alloy forged bars from 310 mm diameter up to 1015 mm diameter, which is the largest diameter stocked in the UK. Amongst others, we stock highly demanded grades such as 080M40, 709M40, 817M40 and 722M24.
Individually sawn blanks and full bars can be provided to customer requirements and we also have the in-house capability to offer further operations such as heat treatment, turning, boring and mechanical testing. All materials can be supplied with copies of original mill certs.
Die blocks and bars in Somers Forge branded Die Steel Electem (DIN 1.2713), Somdie (DIN 1.2714) and Somtherm are manufactured in house and have a long established reputation within the domestic and global marketplace. Available in round bar and rectangular section these materials can be individually sawn to customer requirements and our in house heat treatment facilities allow us to supply dies in the customers required hardness range.
Our Die Blocks are also regularly supplied with dovetails sawn to customer drawings allowing them to save time and money when machining the die block. Bespoke die blocks as well as branded dies including Thermodie and Bestem and blanks can also be manufactured bespoke to customer requirements. Tool Steel H13 is stocked in both diameters and rectangular sections and sawn to suit the needs of our customers.
